From an academic world of philosophy, photography and journalism Martin moved to Paris and eventually ended up at the graphic department at WAD Magazine. He brought the design experience along with a fascination of shapes and figures with him back to Stockholm, where he started to work as a photographer in the autumn of 2005.
Martin divides his time between still life and fashion, playing with the tension between the static and the dynamic, always challenging the difference between the two.
His inspiration comes equally from the worlds of culture and science. The history of art as well as the evolution of quantum physics. The way the impressionist perceived the world and the curiosity in String theory science. The compositions of the De Stijl artists and the playfulness of the Dadaists. The decadence among the literary movements of the early 1920’s in Paris. The way the pop artists can lift almost anything into art and art contexts.
